Nigel – DIY Loft Boarding

"LoftZone StoreFloor has provided me with exactly what I needed, a quality raised floor in the roof space for easy storage without affecting the insulation."

Nigel Cooke lives in Bristol in a mid-terraced double fronted cottage style house built in the 1920s. The former Chartered Surveyor (now retired) needed to upgrade the thermal insulation in his loft to a minimum of 270mm. He wanted a system to provide a storage platform without squashing the new insulation.

Nigel looked around and said LoftZone StoreFloor looked ideal. Before installing StoreFloor, Nigel had a small amount of storage which had to be carefully balanced on ceiling rafters. He really wanted to optimise the loft space in a safe way.

Nigel installed Loft Zone’s StoreFloor himself, here’s what he says:

"The instructions were very straight forward, and the basic concept was easy to understand. My house has an old roof structure and before installing StoreFloor, moving around in the loft was cramped. It was not a straight forward space like a modern roof with roof trusses so I needed something that would fit in a bespoke way, I wanted to be able to modify the system to fit a specific area of the roof space and incorporate a loft ladder. I was able to do all of this with ease.

I looked at other systems and my view is that LoftZone StoreFloor is the best one. The components are well designed and engineered. Buying from LoftZone was straightforward, communication was excellent throughout and it's fantastic value for money."
