Loft Shelving

Easy-to-Fit Trussed Roof Shelving

Our unique loft shelving systems are designed for trussed roof lofts (the type of roof with timbers that form a V- or W-pattern inside the loft), which is the most common form of loft construction in the UK since the 1990s. Newer houses often lack storage space, so use our easy-to-fit loft shelving systems to provide some much-needed extra space!

Steel TrussShelf

High Quality, British-Made Metal Loft Shelving

These smart steel shelf panels can simply be placed on the trusses, where they find their own level, and then all you have to do is to secure them with the screws provided. These trussed loft shelves literally take seconds to fit, and all you need is a manual screwdriver.

Shelf-Beam

High Quality, British-Made Wooden Loft Shelving

The Shelf-Beam consists of a steel beam with two brackets, one at each end, that is placed between the timber trusses in your loft. You then fix the brackets into the trusses with the screws provided and place loft boards (or any other shelving board you choose) on top of the beams. As the final step, screw the boards into the Shelf-Beams with the self-tapping screws provided. In this respect, it’s very similar to fitting boards onto our raised loft decking products, StoreFloor and StoreFloor Compact, but for shelving instead!

Which Shelf Is Best For Me?

Here are some points to consider when choosing loft shelving.

Level

Both products automatically find their own level, so you don’t need to worry about your shelves looking uneven.

Lengths

Shelf-Beams come in two lengths (700mm and 375mm), so you can have two rows of shelves if you want. This isn’t the case with TrussShelves.

What You Need

With this loft shelving, everything you need is provided, the unit we ship is a complete shelf. With the Shelf-Beam, you need to fix boards on top of the metal Shelf-Beams; you can use the loft boards that we sell or anything else that you want.

Installation

Both products are fast to install, but the TrussShelves are faster, taking just a few minutes.

Price

The Shelf-Beam works out cheaper overall (even including the loft boards) than buying the TrussShelf.

Recycling

Both the TrussShelf and Shelf-Beam are fully recyclable, being made from steel. Chipboard loft boards are currently not widely recycled owing to the glue content within.

Tools

With a Shelf-Beam, you will need an electric screwdriver in order to screw the boards down into the Shelf-Beams. With a TrussShelf, a manual (non-electric) screwdriver will be fine.

Weight

Both types of loft shelving have been tested to hold lots of weight, but we don’t recommend that you put more than 25kg on each shelf, as you don’t want to overburden the trusses.

Visuals

Visually, they look quite different. Pick whichever one you think is best for your loft!
