UK’S FIRST GOVERNMENT-BACKED SCHEME LAUNCHED TO GIVE HOMEOWNERS CONFIDENCE IN LOFT BOARDING INDUSTRY
A new TrustMark-endorsed program launched by LoftZone and managed by Diversity to protect homeowners and ensure safe, efficient installations
A landmark new scheme has been announced to help UK homeowners make safe, energy-efficient choices for their raised loft boarding projects, whilst maintaining high industry standards.
As the first and only initiative of its kind endorsed by TrustMark – a UK government-backed quality mark for tradespeople – the TrustMark Loft Boarding Installer Scheme has been launched by LoftZone, the UK’s leading raised loft boarding provider.
Run by Diversity Management Services, the scheme aims to provide homeowners with a clear and trusted benchmark for reputable, safe and energy-efficient installers. LoftZone’s BBA-approved systems are a high quality, but pivotal addition to the home, as regular squashed insulation can reduce its effectiveness by up to 50%.
The launch itself addresses potential concerns around not only damaged insulation and lower energy efficiency – but also the safety risks associated with incorrectly handled materials. In creating a national standard, the scheme reassures consumers that they are only hiring providers of the highest quality. Each installation under the programme is protected with a five-year guarantee.
Dave Raval, Insulation Expert and CEO of LoftZone comments: “The announcement of this scheme marks a major step forward for homeowners, giving them a simple and trusted method to find skilled professionals who meet only the highest standards.
“With raised loft boarding able to improve energy efficiency by up to 50% at home, we’d encourage all homeowners to use an accredited installer and look for the TrustMark. It guarantees quality workmanship and might just benefit both your home and bills alike.”.
Consumers who go through scheme providers also earn other benefits, such as enhanced protection – thanks to the scheme’s network of trusted providers. Easy access is also granted to Trading Standards if needed, and TrustMark will share free guidance to help empower consumers to make the best decisions for them.
To maintain high standards, installers must adhere to a strict code of conduct and operations manual including regular audits of their work.
